Fountain

I was told to not stop improving
“Don’t stop learning”, they said
So I have learnt to do my due diligence
I have learnt to filter
But I was also told to look for a fountain
I was told to look for free water flowing

I was told to listen and take it in
I was told to open up
To smell the flowers

One thing I did not do was open my eyelids
I can now admit, I know what it’s like to sleepwalk
